Maple Bacon Hot Cross Buns

What you’ll need

500g Streaky Bacon

¼ cup Maple Syrup

2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar

6 x Hot Cross Buns (Fruit or Fruitless)

2 Tbsp. butter

How to make it

  1. Preheat oven grill to 200 degrees
  2. Line baking tray with greaseproof paper and lay out strips of bacon across it evenly.
  3. Brush bacon with maple syrup and sprinkle brown sugar evenly across each strip. Place in oven under grill for 10 mins or until side is crisp.
  4. Remove from oven and flip each strip of bacon. Place back in oven for 10 mins or until crisp. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
  5. Toast hot cross buns and spread butter on bottom half of each bun. Top with 1 -2 strips of bacon and top with remaining bun.
  6. Enjoy!
