St. Patrick's Day is on its way, and to celebrate we’re providing you with five simple ways to infuse your meals with some Irish charm.

1. Cabbage

Cabbage features heavily in many Irish dishes and is a very simple accompaniment for any meal. Whether you put it in a coleslaw or just sit it on the side for some extra crunch, cabbage is a great means of complementing your meal.

2. Potatoes

Potatoes are another common ingredient in Irish dishes. So whether you want to do mashed potato or try something a bit bolder, you can’t go past potatoes on St. Patrick’s.

3. Pesto

Why not add something green and delicious to your St. Patrick’s Day meal? Pesto is a simple way to add a kick of flavour to any dish, and you can buy plenty of pre-made pestos from Woolworths. Why not mix it in with your mashed potatoes and have fun with your green theme.

4. Mashed peas

Mashed peas are another fantastic option for adding a bit of St. Patrick’s green. It’s as simple as cooking the peas for five minutes in boiling water and then mashing them by hand or in a blender. You can add a bit of cream, too, if you’d like.

5. Stew

Ireland is known for making some great stews, and as we move into the cooler months, why not try out a few for yourself? With our shredded meat range (beef, chicken and/or pork), you’ll find putting together a tasty stew is nice and simple.
